Timely Topics – Running Sport Medicine Conference- Calgary, AB
The CASEM Running Injuries course will be held on Saturday, September 14th in Calgary, AB.
This one day clinical workshop lead by Drs. Victor Lun, Marcus Robinson and Preston Wiley will cover all aspects of running injuries.
The course will run from 8:00am to 4:30pm and includes breakfast, lunch and breaks.
This Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada for up to 6.25 Mainpro+ credits.
CASEM MSK ULTRASOUND BASICS COURSE – LOWER LIMBS
This ” Introduction to MSK Ultrasound Imaging: Lower Limb” will be offered as a one day course in Ottawa, ON at the University of Ottawa Medical School on Saturday, September 28th. The internationally renowned faculty returns headed by Dr. Jon Halperin and includes Drs. Jon Jacobson , Jeff Striowski and Gerard Malanga amongst others.

CASEM MSK LOWER LIMB ULTRASOUND GUIDED INJECTIONS

completed the CASEM MSK Basic Ultrasound Course**
The CASEM Advanced MSK Ultrasound Course is back and with focus on ultrasound guided injections of the lower limbs!
The course will be held in Ottawa on Saturday and Sunday September 28-29, 2019 and will be hosted by the University of Ottawa Skills and Simulation Centre (UOSSC).
The course includes lectures, live demonstrations and cadaver lab workshop sessions. An international Faculty, led by Dr. Jon Halperin, will work with a small participant group to ensure maximum learning.

CASEM is excited to launch a new addition to its smorgasbord of CPD with the unveiling of its program on sport medicine and the cyclist.
If you enjoy learning, cycling and wine tasting then this is the course for you.
Location: The course will take place in the heart of the Niagara wine region at the White Oaks Resort & Spa (253 Taylor Road SS4 ) and participants will enjoy the opportunity to learn, cycle and discover the wineries of the locale.
Program: Led by Dr Wade Elliot, team physician for Cycling Canada, this two half day Course will cover all aspects of sport medicine and team physician coverage as it pertains to the cyclist and cycling.
CASEM Advanced Sport Medicine Course
Well it’s back – the CASEM Advanced Sport Medicine Course returns to the University of Ottawa Skills and Simulation Centre (uOSSC), Ottawa, ON the 9-10 November, 2019 weekend.
For those of you who are not familiar with the course, this two-day intensive course is a hands-on, practical case-based approach to advanced sport medicine. Four modules spread over two days are presented initiated by a mass-casualty scenario. The Faculty are all experienced practitioners who will provide an experience second-to-none and our partner, uOSSC, provide the educational expertise as well as the site, sounds and equipment to make this course as realistic as possible.
- To acquire the ability to develop and implement an integrated plan to effectively deal with potential emergencies occurring at a busy competition venue.
- To deliver the course content in an interactive learning format that integrates the principles of adult education with updated teaching technology in practical sessions where skills and theory are challenged and refined.
- To ensure that excellent quality faculty are selected which offer leadership, mentoring and gold standard principles of care.
Due to the nature of the course, registration is restricted to 24 participants – the student-teacher ratio is low, the sessions are highly interactive and 100% participation is mandatory.
