Job Brief

At Vivo Cura Health our goal is to work together to address our patients’ MSK pain so they can get back to living. Our multidisciplinary team is growing and looking for a responsible Sports Medicine physician to provide high quality medical assessments for people suffering with musculoskeletal pain. In our centrally located and newly renovated facility, you will work alongside a team consisting of General Practitioners, Anesthesiologists, Physiatrists, Radiologists and Physiotherapists and have access to the resources and equipment required to provide continuous care in a single location.

An ideal candidate is hard-working, compassionate and works well as a member of a team. He/She can interpret symptoms and reach a diagnosis efficiently and stay organized while managing the care of the patient population he/she has assessed.


  • Work alongside a physiotherapist to understand the nature of a patient’s pain in the context of identifying likely pain generators, unmet lifestyle needs and physical rehab opportunities
  • Clearly communicate why a particular treatment plan is being proposed to the patient and providing advice aimed to promote improved health
  • Providing a detailed report to the referring physician
  • Have a daily team conference with relevant team members to discuss questions and treatment options
  • Collaborate with other physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to determine ways to improve the care offered at Vivo Cura Health
  • Remain up-to-speed with developments and best practices in medicine by attending conferences and seminars


  • Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) and valid license to practice the profession
  • College of Family Physicians of Canada certified physician with a diploma in Sports Medicine and is in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
  • 2+ years practicing as a Sports Medicine Physician
  • Strong understanding of MSK examination methodologies and diagnostics
  • Broad knowledge of common medication, side effects and contraindications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Respect for patient confidentiality
  • Compassionate and approachable towards staff and patients
  • Responsible and trustworthy
  • Experience with MSK ultrasound and guided injections an advantage
