Institute of Human Mechanics – Sport Medicine Physician

treatments for osteoarthritis and sports-related muscle, ligament, and tendon injuries.

TITLE : Doctor of Sports Medicine
DEPARTMENT : Sports Physician

As a valued member of our sports physician team, you will be required to diagnose or treat disorders of the musculoskeletal system, order and interpret the results of laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging procedures. You will be tasked with advising against injured athletes returning to games or competitions while providing return to play and activity protocols.

Patient scheduling is supported by receptionists, clinical nurses, sonographer, and operations manager. Physicians will be provided with their own medical office and access to Accuro EMR.

Clinic Location: 230 Browns Line, Etobicoke, Ontario.

Provide such insured and uninsured assessments, consultations, medical advice, examinations and other medical services as may be required for patients of a Clinic in accordance with acceptable standards of the medical profession;

Perform PRP treatments for certain qualified injuries to muscle, tendon and ligaments, including osteoarthritis of the joints and chronic tendinopathy.

Provide surgical consultations as well as general sport and orthopedic assessments, recommendations and treatment plans for patients of a Clinic in accordance with acceptable standards of the medical profession.

Professional Requirements
Degree in Medicine (MD) • CCFP Designation • Registered and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and currently licensed to practice in Ontario • Sports Medicine Diploma through CASEM or similar organization • Experience working with competitive athletes is an asset • Experience and training in ultrasound guided injection therapies required • Experience in ultrasound guided interventional therapies, including Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is an asset.

The Physician is and at all times shall continue to be licensed to practice medicine in the Province of Ontario and shall provide a certified copy of the Physician’s current registration to practice medicine in the Province of Ontario and/or certificate of professional conduct, upon request.
