Research Grant Update

31.08.2023

Drs. Ranita Manocha, Larry Katz, Krista Best, William Miller, François Routhier, Victor Lun, and Steven Macaluso obtained the 2022 CASEM Research Grant.

With the help of this grant, the team, led by Dr. Manocha, built on the Improving Canadians’ Walking Aids Skills, Learning, and Knowledge© (ICanWALK©) app, bringing it from 6 modules to 20 modules. This app teaches patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and healthcare trainees how to fit and walk with a variety of walking aids such as crutches and walkers, using interactive self-recorded videos.

The app is currently available as a free download, so make sure to try it out with your patients and students! More information on the app is available at https://icanwalk.info.
