 CASEM Communications/Social Media Coordinator (Contract Position)
Salary: $20.00 to $30.00 /hour (up to 22.5 hours per week)

CASEM is seeking a part-time communications/social media contractor to support its communication and marketing initiatives.

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative communication and marketing plans and initiatives that support CASEM’s strategic plan, including enhancing relationships with CASEM’s internal and external audiences/stakeholders


  • Develop and implement successful communications and social media strategies, including creating suitable and engaging sport and exercise medicine content to further engage and enhance relationships with different stakeholders (members, public, government, other physician and allied health-care professional associations).
  • Conduct research for curated content using online tools available (media/google alerts etc)
  • Assist Executive Director with media requests and outreach
  • Assist in overseeing strategies for CASEM’s digital properties, including the production of branded marketing, creative and digital content for the CASEM website and social media channels
  • Working with CASEM staff to produce and maintain both written and visual content (graphics, infographics, covers, etc.) for use on various CASEM communication platforms (website, newsletter, events)
  • Report, analyze performance, and develop action plans for social media content


  • College/ University degree in marketing; communication, journalism, health promotion or related discipline
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, or Premiere are considered an asset;
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
  • A working knowledge of both French and English
  • Experience working within the medical association market is considered an asset
  • Interest in health and fitness is a definite asset

Contract Details:

  • Freelance position, work from home (some travel may be required)
  • Initial 3-month contract that, if satisfactory, will auto-renew at the end for an additional 9 months
  • Further details of the contract will be discussed at interview

Required experience:

  • Entry level position with 1-2 years experience
